Celebrating Local Cultural and Ecological Heritage - The Luo are the largest ethnic group in the Nyanza region of western Kenya, including in Kisumu. This tribal exploration will examine various aspects of Luo culture, including traditional homesteads, family and gender relations, spiritual practices, agriculture, foodways, and social customs. We will also explore other sites of travel within Siaya County, associated with specific themes chosen because they represent, reflect, and evoke traditional village Luo life experience within the diverse luo bioregions.
